Alexandre Bain is somewhat of an eco warrior in the vineyard and everything is done by hand with the aid of a 10 year old draft horse called Phenomene. This 100% Sauvignon Blanc is born in extremely low-yielding vineyards. It shows rich notes of honeysuckle, acacia flower, liquorice and a tense, refreshing acidity. Described by Isabelle Legeron MW as “the best Pouilly I’ve ever tasted”.
The vines are over 40 years old and benefit from kimmeridgian limestone soils which add a distinct minerality,
The wine is structured, traditional, herbaceous, and mineral driven. This has all the light and sweet aromatics of Sauvignon Blanc and is rich and weighty in glass, yet totally tempered by it’s bright minerality. This is a lovely expression of Sauvignon with ripe kiwi fruit and a particularly tangy finish.
