Port & Cognac
Port is a Portuguese fortified wine (hence the name) which is only produced in the Douro Valley in north Portugal. It’s a sweet red wine which is often used as a dessert wine, although it is possible to find dry, semi-dry and white Port. Whilst similar products are produced elsewhere, much like Champagne, only Portuguese fortified wines may use the name Port. Cognac is a type of Brandy which heralds from the town of Cognac in France. Again, the use of its name is strictly governed by legal requirements and regulations to protect the economic profile of the region. We’re really pleased to be able to offer organic port and cognac.
