Falanghina is an ancient grape variety which was most likely imported to the region of Naples by Roman merchants. It is a species of considerable strength and character of grape probably imported to the region by Roman merchants. It owes its name to the Latin ‘phalange’, which refers to the stakes to which the vines were tethered during cultivation. Wines tend to be delicate and fine, and go especially well with seafood.
