Wine is our passion. We’re proud to stock a wide range of top-quality wines from producers who specialise in sustainable, organic, biodynamic and natural wines.
We champion wines from winemakers who make individual hand crafted wines and not branded, industrially produced examples of mediocrity.
These growers work with their environment. Their methods include the use of wild yeasts, natural winemaking techniques, sustainable, organic or biodynamic viticulture.
Put simply, whatever your preference, the one recurring theme which sets a great wine apart from an average one, is without doubt, attention to detail in the vineyard and in the winery.
Unfortunately, as as a result of our desire for convenience, more than 75% of all the wines we drink are bought from our local supermarket. This in turn has led to a significant decrease in quality and thus detrimental to the enjoyment we experience as consumers.
Here at the Grape Store, we want people to know that there is an alternative to the mass marketed brands we are so used to seeing on the supermarket shelves. Our aim is to champion smaller growers and vineyards who value quality and enjoy drinking their wine as much as we do.
The more you learn about wine, the more fascinating the subject becomes. There is truly nothing better than discovering a new wine, a new grape variety or an inspirational winemaker.
Cheers
John Lees AIWS.

Organic
There are many superb examples of high quality organic wineries, but the term should be treated with caution unless you know the producer in question or trust the place or person that you buy it from. At The Grape Store, we stock a wide variety of organic wines which you can trust; we won’t stock wines from vineyards we haven’t researched first.

Natural
Natural wine is a relatively recent phenomenon, but one that is currently at the cutting edge of the wine world. Essentially, natural wine takes organic or biodynamic practises in the vineyard as its starting point, and extends them into the winery, reducing the chemical input and manipulations throughout the entire production process.

Biodynamic
Biodynamics requires a much greater commitment from the grower and is often referred to as ‘super-charged’ organics. Rather than simply reducing chemical inputs, biodynamics is a proactive attempt to bring life to the soil by the use of natural composts and organic preparations. Biodynamic vineyards always look beautifully alive and healthy.
