Migliarina and Montozzi

Migliarina Montozzi Vinile 2012

The Vinile 2012 is produced in the Chianti region of Tuscany. The wine is a blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon. On the nose there are elements of black fruits and spice. This is a very silky wine on the palate, it has marvellous acidity balanced with fine tannins. The finish is full of delicious dark fruits with hints of cherry and sweet spices with a hint of a tobacco like earthiness which is simply delightful.

Migliarina Montozzi Vinile – Inspired By Music

Migliarina Montozzi Vinile is from the Migliarina and Montozzi estate. The Bartolini Baldelli family have been running the estate since the 1660. In total it covers 500 hectares. The area under vines covers 28 of these hectares. The elegant Montozzi castle is at the heart of the estate. Residence to many generations of the Baldelli family. Vinile translates into English as vinyl.

The wine is born out of winemaker Antonio Bartolini Baldelli’s two greatest passions. Wine and music. In the words of Beppe ‘Producing wine and writing songs have in fact great similarities … Both refer to emotions, experiences and dreams, and the need to share it sincerely. This wine is a “mix” of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon aged in steel tanks and partly in French oak. Written, arranged and recorded at the Farm Migliarina’

Terroir

A hilly area between Arezzo, Sienna and Florence. The terroir has an ideal exposure and climate for growing grapes. Also it is mild in comparison to other regions in Chianti. However the nature of the relief means plenty of long sunny days to mature the grapes. The soil on the estate is a marl clay. The wine is a mix of different aging techniques as much as it is grapes. Steel vats are used age the Cabernet Sauvignon. Whilst French oak is used to age the Sangiovese.
