Chateau Deville

Chateau Deville Rouge, Bordeaux 2014

The Entre-Deux-Mers area of Bordeaux lies not between the seas as the name suggests, but rather between the two rivers that dominate the region: the Dordogne and the mighty Garonne. This is one of the largest appellations in the Bordeaux region, and the compact alluvial soils grow both white and red grapes, often labelled as AOC Bordeaux.

This is another lovely lunchtime wine from Chateau Deville with real character, perfect for sipping over a nice impromptu meal. It will go well with any number of good, well flavoured foods, particularly beef, lamb or veal dishes. Lighter game meats would fair well, provided they are served with a good sauce. Also lovely with couscous, pasta and beans.

TASTING NOTES
Fine ruby red in colour with paler brickish hints. It has a lovely warm bouquet of ripe blackcurrant and plum aromas blended with soft cedar wood touches and a hint of bonfire smoke. In the mouth it is full and juicy, offering plenty of rounded fruit flavours and just enough tannins to hold the structure. Not a huge wine, but certainly a delicious one.
