A departure from the pure and pristine, show-winning expressions that are normally bottled under the Framingham label. Hand-picked fruit from the estate’s oldest vines, all wild yeast fermented, 20% in old oak, with full solids too. Aged 11 months on full ferment lees with batonnage. Only 70 dozen made.
It is quite a Germanic style- well a ripe dry style, lovely fruit on the nose, apricot and lime, ripe apple and spice. It’s rich with lots of extract, just off-dry with apricot and lime, red apple, minerals and spice. It’s tangy and vibrant with good acidity and is sure to age well.
REVIEWS & AWARDS
“Real concentration here: dense, minerally, a little toasty with some citrus freshness but also herb and apricot depth, as well as crystalline pear fruit notes. Real depth and intensity, and lots of potential for further development. 93/100.” – Les Caves de Pyrene
