Winemaker Sandro Mosele has crafted a reputation for some of the finest representations of Australian Pinot and Chardonnay. The vineyard is split into five individual parcels with a variety of clones planted on some very different soils, and everything is done to enhance and express the natural characteristics of each parcel.
Pale straw with hints of gold. There is creamy, nutty complexity on the nose. The palate shows real class, balance and intensity. Quite open and expressive, there is an opulence that reflects the warm year, but the balance is terrific. White peach, floral, orange peel, hazelnuts, cashews, and some mouth-coating richness. The intensity builds through the palate, which is reined in on the finish by the tight acid structure.
REVIEWS & AWARDS
“Restrained grilled nuts, nectarines and a hint of spice from the oak; the palate is fine and poised, with lively, tangy acidity drawing the wine out to a long and even conclusion. 93/100.” – James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion 2010
