Emmerich Knoll is one the best producers of Riesling and Gruner Veltliner in the Wachau region. Austria is famous for its organic white wines made of Riesling and Gruner Veltliner grapes. This is a dry Riesling.
Smaragd is a definition for the best and most valuable wines of the Wachau, and was first used for the 1986 vintage.
TASTING NOTES
The wine has a strong yellow colour and immediately you can see that the wine has serious concentration. The nose shows discreet mineral notes, honey, herbs and a hint of spice. In the mouth the wine is nicely balanced with high acidity ,minerality, tropical fruits, citrus and apples.
