The internationally-recognised Mas de Daumas owes its success to a number of factors: extremely good terroir, the perfect microclimate, great vine location in between pockets of forest, and well-perfected viticulture processes. The estate uses entirely organic methods, applying only natural dung compost and plant cuttings, and they never over-harvest, which allows the wines to reach a quality their competitors can only dream of.
TASTING NOTES
The Mas de Daumas Gassac Rouge 2011 is a very complex wine that demonstrates a wonderful bouquet of crushed mulberries and blackberries, alongside a wide array of smokey leather notes. The finish is exquisitely silky and can be tasted for several minutes. This wine has a justifiable reputation for out-performing several first and second growth clarets.
