A family owned vineyard for several generations, Chateau Les Ollieux Romanis is in Montseret (renowned for its honey flavoured with thyme, rosemary and lavender), situated in the heart of the Boutenac region, an area dedicated to the culture of the vine since Roman times. The vines are located on a sheltered hillside facing southeast.
Atal Sia is a blend of mainly Carignan with Grenache, Mourvedre and a dash of Syrah.
The Carignan comes from low yielding vines, some of which are more than 100 years old. It is the grapes from these vines that give this organic wine a purity of fruit that is simply outstanding.
A deep and intense wine with black fruits, orange peel, spice and liquorice and a smooth, silky, almost sweet palate. No oak ageing, but the intensity and purity of fruit will ensure that this wine will age gracefully in bottle for at least 5-10 years.
