Domaine du Salvard

Domaine Du Salvard, Cheverny Blanc 2021

Emmanuel Delaille practices lutte raisonnée and advocates minimum intervention, as well as restricting yields to ensure optimum quality and ripeness of the grapes. Cheverny was promoted to full AC status in 1993 and allows Chardonnay in the blend as is showcased in this wine.

TASTING NOTES
Fresh, fragrant Sauvignon Blanc from a little known appellation north east of the Loire. The nose displays a characteristic Loire grassiness backed up by flint and minerality. The palate is crisp and zingy with notes of tangy apples leading to a soft, rounded finish. A period of maturation on lees has added complexity to a wine that is delicious as an aperitif, or a partner to simple Asian cuisine.

REVIEWS & AWARDS
“Nobody could fault Emmanuel Delaille’s  Cheverny for lack of verve or minerality, despite the general tendencies of its vintage. Lemon, nettle, and pennyroyal in the nose anticipate a pungent, briskly-refreshing, virtually palate-scouring performance, finishing with what seems like a mouthful of salt and chalk dust. This is sure to get your salivary and gastric juices flowing over the next 9 months.”
