Category: 12.5% ABV, Domaine Guy Allion, France, Loire Valley, Organic, Sauvignon Blanc
Sauvignon Blanc remains a very fashionable grape variety and this wine represents incredible value when compared to heralded examples from Sancerre which lies adjacent to the area.
On the nose you will find fresh grassy aromas. Vibrant elements of green apple and citrus grace the palate. These are accompanied with subtle hints of blackcurrant. Delicate balance and subtlety of flavour characterise this wine. The Domaine du Haut Perron Touraine Sauvignon has a long crisp finish. Best served as an aperitif it can also complement asparagus and seafood dishes.
Domaine Haut Perron is currently managed by Cedric Allion. The estate been passed down from father to son for the last four generations. The domaine situated in the Cher valley covers 60 hectares. It is situated on the hills in the old roman municipality of Theseus. Cedric’s father Guy Allion studied viticulture at an enology training school in Beaune. The knowledge he acquired there has been coupled with practical experience. This allows the team to create unique and outstanding wines. The estate has a sustainable practice policy. Chemical treatments are kept to a minimum. Furthermore, when applied they are in line with the Terra Vitis code of practice. Because of this the full potential of the grape is realised. Besides this Sauvignon the estate produces Pinot Noir and Malbec.
