Category: Carignan, Chateau Ollieux Romanis, Corbieres, France, Grenache Noir, Mourvedre, Organic, Syrah
A family owned vineyard for several generations, Chateau Les Ollieux Romanis is in Montseret (renowned for its honey flavoured with thyme, rosemary and lavender), situated in the heart of the Boutenac region, an area dedicated to the culture of the vine since Roman times. The vines are located on a sheltered hillside facing southeast.
The Cuvee Prestige Rouge is a blend of Carignan with Grenache, Mourvedre and Syrah also in the mix.
TASTING NOTES
Aged in wood for about fifteen months the Cuvee Prestige is a blend of Carignan, from 100yr old vines along with Grenache and Mourvedre and a splash of Syrah. It has rich, concentrated fruit flavours of black cherries, cocoa butter and spice, with oh so silky tannins and a fine well balanced finish. Excellent now but will continue to evolve whilst aging nicely for the next 6-8 years.
