One of our most well-known producers, the notoriously excellent Mas de Daumas can put its success down to fantastic terroir, perfect microclimate, exceptional vines located in between pockets of forest, and incredibly honed viticulture processes. The estate works using entirely organic methods, with only natural dung compost and plant cuttings acting as fertilisers, and they consciously don’t over-harvest, this allowing the wines to reach a much higher level of quality than those of competitors.
TASTING NOTES
A white that benefits from not being served at too cold a temperature, the Gassac Blanc has a lot to offer. Once decanted, it’s easy to appreciate the primary pear fruit Viognier aromas as they melt into the wine, only to be replaced by a lovely impression of pollen, dried fruit and warm butter. A truly harmonious tasting experience.
