Category: 13.5% ABV, CInsault, Clos Du Joncas, France, Grenache Noir, Mourvedre, Organic, Rhone - Gigondas
This is a hugely underrated area producing top quality wines – buy now, before everyone else finds out! The grapes are harvested at the beginning of October, trodden in the traditional way, and, after a cuvaison of 18 days and regular remontage, the wine is put into foudres. No filtration, nor fining, from the vineyard where strictly organic practices are observed to the sympathetic treatment in the winery, this is southern Rhone red at its purest.
TASTING NOTES
Rich, spicy mix of Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre and Cinsault. A little hint of oak gives a wine with brambly, warm spicy fruit and a long, warming finish.
