Category: 13% ABV, Domaine Henry Pelle, France, Loire Valley, Organic, Pinot Noir
The organic domaine of Henry Pelle is situated in the beautiful village of Morogues in the eastern region of the Loire valley. Ran by Anne Pelle (the wife of the late Eric Pelle), a team of 15 – headed up by oenologist Julian Zermott – practice organic viticulture with unstinting attention to detail.
TASTING NOTES
Shows vegetal green-tomato aromas over vinous red fruits at first, and hits the palate with a lean and herbal first impression: but a little time in the glass sees the nose add pleasant spicy notes of cinnamon and cloves, and the flavour develops full, almost plush red fruit with plenty of lemony acidity to give it structure.
This wine has thrived with some bottle age and is drinking well and will continue to do so for another couple of years.
