Category: 14% ABV, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chamonix, Franschhoek, Merlot, Organic, South Africa
A harmonious organic blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, the grapes are all selected from separate plots in deep, strong, partially clay soils at an altitude of 400 metres above sea level. This altitude provides significant day/night temperature differences, which help the vines produce grapes of the highest quality.
TASTING NOTES
The Chamonix Troika (Russian for ‘a collection of three’) has deep ruby mulberry colour when young, with scents that recall vanilla, sweet ripe cherries, blackberries, cinnamon and other spices. The wine is well structured; full round and smooth on the palate with rich fruit and berry sensations, fine harmony and length of flavour.
Very impressive already and will continue to evolve and improve with bottle age, if you can wait that long!
REVIEWS & AWARDS
“Intense nose of graphite, gravel, chalk and pure blackcurrant fruit. Very pure. The palate is dense and structured with lovely freshness and impeccable balance, with a mineral edge to the pure blackcurrant and blackberry fruit. Brilliantly fresh and quite complex.” – 94/100 – wineanorak.com
