A family owned vineyard for several generations, Chateau Les Ollieux Romanis is in Montseret. Located in the heart of the Boutenac region, this an area dedicated to the culture of the vine since Roman times.
Cuvee Classique Rouge is a blend of Carignan, Grenache, Mourvedre and Syrah from vines planted on hard red clay soil. The wine is fermented and then aged in tank for 12-18 months.
TASTING NOTES
The Cuvee Classique shows plenty of dark fruit flavours and a distinct purity of fruit that is overwhelmingly seductive, this combines with a hint of spice and a wonderfully long finish, it’s a superb example of what is possible in this region.
REVIEWS & AWARDS
“A blend of the classic grape varieties of the Midi, Carignan, Grenache Noir, Mourvedre and Syrah. Ollieux Romanis is one of the historic estates of the Corbieres appellation, near the village of Boutenac. This conjures up the warm south in a glass.” – Vinopic.com
